Advantages of Li-ion battery technology

Share it:

1. Green and environmental protection: Lead, mercury, cadmium and other toxic heavy metal substances do not appear in production, use or even scrapping.

2. No memory effect: This means that lithium-ion batteries can be charged and discharged at any time, unlike nickel-hydrogen and nickel-tin batteries, you must wait until the power is exhausted.

3. Strong adaptability to environmental temperature changes: it can be used in an environment of -20℃-60℃, after special treatment, it can be used in an environment of -45℃.

4. Saving water resources: The important raw materials of lithium-ion batteries, such as lithium, manganese, iron, and vanadium, are all rich resources in my country; production basically does not consume water, which is very beneficial to countries with scarce water sources.

5. High voltage platform of lithium-ion battery: The average voltage of a single battery is 3.2V or 3.7V, which is approximately equal to the series voltage of three nickel-cadmium batteries or nickel-hydrogen batteries, which is convenient to form a battery pack.

6. The service life is relatively long: the service life can reach more than 10 years. Take the lithium-ion battery with lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode as an example, under 1C charge and discharge rate, the cycle cycle record can reach 2000 times.

7. The self-discharge rate is very low. Self-discharge rate is one of the outstanding characteristics of lithium-ion batteries. At room temperature, if fully charged for one month, the self-discharge rate is about 10%. Under the same conditions, the self-discharge rate is 25-30% for Ni-Cd and 30-35% for Ni-MH. .

8. With high power endurance: For example, the charge-discharge rate of the lithium iron phosphate battery used in the lithium-ion battery of electric vehicles can reach 15C-30C, which is very suitable for the high-intensity start and acceleration of power vehicles.
